Navy officials haven’t yet confirmed that a reported aircraft crash Sunday afternoon in Cherokee National Forest in southeastern Tennessee, was in fact a missing Navy T-45 training jet, Navy sources say.

After a week of preparation, the Navy deployed the Norfolk-based hospital ship Comfort to Puerto Rico. Meanwhile, the amphibious assault ship Wasp won’t continue on to Japan, just yet. Instead, she’s being redirected from the island Nation of Dominica to U.S. Territories to continue on in a relief mission for now.
